No: Sperm do not live very long outside the body. The ph and physical properties of cervical mucus are ideal at the time of ovulation to enable sperm to swim into the uterine cavity. You should first determine why you are "sore" by seeing your doctor and try to have vaginal intercourse around the time of ovulation (mid cycle).

No: Please see your gyn, as u may beed some lubrication like astroglide or estrogen cream the kind that will not interfere with trying for pg, or other therapy and u can always do IUI where the sperm is washed and put directly in the uterus.
