What are the features of a healthy ileostomy, jejunostomy, colostomy?

Regularity...: An -ostomy is surgically created for a variety of reasons. Effectively, a loop of gut is brought to the surface of the skin to empty. What's "in the bag" then is a function of the contents of where in the gut the ostomy is fashioned. Ideally, a healthy ostomy is not painful, not bleeding or ulcerated, has a well-fitted appliance that does not leak & is comfortable, & stool output is reasonable.

Healthy tissue: You should see pinkish or redish tissue protruding from the abdominal wall skin. This is healthy tissue. It should be functioning with gas and stool in the ostomy appliance or bag.
