Red below: Fat transfer is a technique where fat is removed from one area on the body and after proper processing is placed in a different part of the face or body by means of special needles. One area to another: Harvesting fat, usually through liposuction, and putting it in a distant area, usually without an attached blood supply. Other types include attaching "flap"s through various methods of reattaching blood flow. Fat transfer by injecting a patients own fat, never someone else's, into flatter, or hollow areas to add volume relies on new blood vessel formation that the area fat is transferred to grows.
