They leak!: Cysts are invagination of skin --a pocket of skin folded inside out. What normally sloughs off is now collecting in this "sock". It will periodically leak. If it's a *slow* leak, nothing happens and the cyst collapses, and 'goes away'. Then over time, this pocket recollects the content again, and it comes back.

Cysts can refill: Unless the cyst's sac is removed, the cyst can refill when sebum is over productive.
