Is it necessary to burp a baby after solid foods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Burping gets out air. Period. If your child is not especially gassy, then they don't gulp air when they eat, and you don't have to burp them. If they are gassy all the time and gulp air when they eat, then you should be more aggressive with burping. Some kids never burp after eating anything, some burp all the time. If your child is eating, happy, and not bloated, then don't worry about it.
