Depends : It really depends on how high the hemoglobin levels are. However, high hemoglobin levels can make your blood thick and increase your risk of stroke, heart attack, or other events that may impair organ function. Mild elevation of hemoglobin can be due to dehydration, poor fluid intake, some medications. Definitely ask your physician because it really depends on the situation.
