Men are no different: People tend to smoke more under all sorts of pressures and stress. Statistics show 25% of americans smoke, 50% of all psychiatric outpatients smoke, 70% of bipolar i and substance use disorders smoke and to top it off, 90% of outpatient schizophrenics smoke. There was no significant difference between men and women reported in those statistics.

Smoking/Depression: Not all men who are depressed smoke. Some of those who do use smoking in order to avoid feeling depressed - it does not work, of course.
