Symptoms interfere: If you answer yes to the below questions - you should seek help. Are you having 3->4 headaches/week? Are your headaches keeping from going to work multiple days/month? Are your headahes one-sided associated with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea? Have you ever had transient visual loss, motor weakness or slurred speech? Are your headaches associated with your periods, or with certain foods /red wine?

Increasing symptoms: Increasing symptoms with regards to frequency, intensity or associated symptoms should warrant a consult with a specialist or your primary physician. Also, if your headache affects your day to day activity, you should seek out help.
