Depends on Dx: It depends on your leukemia diagnosis. There are many types of leukemia including cll, cml, all, AML with wide variability in the treatment approaches and prognosis. Cml can (usually) be treated with a pill as chronic therapy while all and AML may receive highly intensive chemotherapies and possibly stem cell transplantation.

It depends: The treatment varies significantly function of type of leukemia, age of patient, coexisting conditions, etc. A form of chemotherapy is virtually always used.
