Cream: Dry skin are better controlled by creams or ointments, not lotions which are more "popular". Aveeno, (oatmeal) cetaphil, cerave, nivea, aquaphore are all good products.

You should realize that dry skin is often caused by over washing in the use of wrong soaps so study this well.
