It could help: Depending on the diagnosis of the cause of your pain. Brace may be extremely helpful. The first important thing is to get your back pain evaluated to ensure you know your diagnosis. And ensure there is no red flags -- like tumor, infection, etc. Not saying you have any of these at all, they are rare. But you have to get evaluated and your doctor will have to recommend brace wear after evaluation.

Maybe.: To know whether a back brace will help your pain, you need to know what's causing it. The back brace is best used in the acute setting, for a short duration when pain is severe. If you haven't already, make an appointment with your physician to discuss your symptoms and how long you have been in pain. He/she may refer you to a spine specialist for further examination and treatment options.
