Carrying fetus: Pregnancy is the state of the body in which an implanted, fertilized egg is growing. Mostly this occurs within the uterus and leads hopefully to a normal birth of a normal baby. Many things can alter this which is why if you are pregnant you should be followed by an obstetrician to maximize a normal outcome.
