Yes: Significant head trauma can result in a concussion to the inner ear. Most patients will have complete resolution of balance symptoms but recovery is variable and may last only a few days or may last several months. Vestibular rehabiliation exercise can help expedite recovery and be helpful.

Balance is complex: I do hope that you improve after treatment. You need to consult your doctor to find out what brain damage was suffered and what do they think is the outlook for improvement after treatment.

Depends: Recovery depends on the severity and location of the injury, if there were complications after the injury, and the state of the individual. Vestibular therapy along with physical therapy help, and can also teach the patient ways to compensate. Vision, the inner ear, and the cerebellum all contribute to balance, so there are many ways to manage balance deficits.
