No: The answer is no, at least as far as we know in the common meaning of the question. Having said that, almost 50% of congenital diaphragmatic hernias occur in association with other anomalies (e.g. Major structural anomalies, chromosomal anomalies, genetic syndromes, etc.).

No: Diaphragmatic hernias occur sporadically. Incidence is about 1:4000-5000 live births. There are no known predisposing factors during the pregnancy that influence the formation of a diaphragmatic hernia.
