No: Intraventricular hemorrhage (ivh) can occur in a child of any age, for a variety of reasons. However, ivh occurs most commonly in newborn preterm infants, with the risk increasing as gestational age decreases. Ivh in term infants can occur, but is usually a prenatal, not postnatal, event.

No, but more common: Intraventricular hemorrhage does not exclusively occur in preterm infants, although it is much more common in preterm infants as opposed to term infants.
