Go Light On the O2: Yes you may be light headed. There are receptors in our carotid arteries that are sensitive to carbon dioxide levels. When levels are high the arteries dilate to bring more blood and oxygen to the brain. When the levels are low they constrict and slow blood flow to the brain. Loading the blood with oxygen, lowers co2 levels even more, constricting the arteries leading to dizziness sometimes.

It could happen: Oxygen therapy can cause vasoconstriction which could cause light headedness and also hypoglycemia which is even more likely to cause light headedness. Either way it is an undesirable effect of oxygen therapy. Good nutrition prior to oxygen therapy can prevent hypglycemia.
