Is there a difference between a tapeworm and a liver fluke?

Yes: Some worms head for the liver but some (like tapeworms) are content to live in the intestine and consume the food you eat. Liver flukes rely more on the processed nutrients in fresh blood.

A VERY significant : Difference.... the Tapeworm infests the BOWEL and has its life cycle there......the Fluke is INVASIVE (invades the BILE DUCTS of the liver) The TREATMENT is very different! Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
