It means ur at risk : It means really just two things -
one - well, you knew this - the pressure in your blood vessels is 'high'
two - your at a high risk for heart attacks, stroke, kidney disease, vascular disease and i suppose death - or maybe after the above, a wish for death -
enjoy!

Hypertension: Hi blood pressure is an elevation of the resistance of the blood vessels throughout the body. If the resistance increases, your heart and other organs have to work harder and thereby begin to negatively affect them over time if left untreated.

it means that your arteries may be harder, putting more stress on all organs in your body (heart, brain are the more sensitive). it means you could have diabetes, kidney disease, eye problems, high cholesterol. It could mean you have metabolic conditions like high thyroid. see MD

Raises Risk: Htn is a silent killer which raises your risk of heart, brain and kidney disease especially when combined with smoking, diabetes and high ldl. Htn is defined as an average BP > 140/90 as measure in the office. Goals of treatment depend on your other issues but 130/80 is a good number.

High blood pressure: A reading over 140/90 on 3 different occasions is considered high blood pressure. Normal is 120/70. Pressure like yours should be monitored. Try to get enough rest and avoid salt. Try not to drink too much caffeine or alcohol. Get checked by your doctor if the pressure stays up for a real diagnosis.

No.: But being angry can raise blood pressure while mad and if that happens a lot, can be harmful. People who are Type A personalities have higher risk from heart disease and some other conditions. So controlling anger, helps health, mood and relationships. Chill!
