Can a defibrillator be removed from inside the body?

Yes: A defibrillator is a pacemaker device that also is able to deliver an electric shock to the heart for life threatening rhythm disturbances. It is connected to the heart via leads that go into the heart vy the veins or can be implanted surgically on the outside of the heart. The device is placed under the skin and can be removed. Leads can also be removed but that is more difficult.
