Thread-lift : Thread-lift results last anywhere from 6 months to several or more years. However, thread-lifts are no longer popular, as results are often short-lived and unsatsifactory. In the appropriate candidate, we generally prefer minimal incision face-lifts, which can usually be performed under local anesthesia with or without an oral sedative.

Thread : Thread lifts were very popular 6-7 years ago with a procedure called the contour thread lift. It is no longer and for good reason. The satisfaction rate was low despite the high expectations for this procedure and the initial promising results. The outcomes were relatively short lived and patients complained about the relative expense as well as the minimal changes. I still have some expired threads in my cabinet just for historical purposes. I know of very few surgeons who perform these any longer.

Silhouette Instalift: Silhouette Instalift is an improved outpatient lift using an absorbable thread that has micro-cones attached to it that lasts up to 2 years. The cones enable the moderately lax skin of the lower face and jawline to be elevated into a rejuvenated position. The collagen being formed assists in maintaining this look. www.artofplasticsurgery.co
