Ummmm: The best prognosticators (predictors) of menarche (your first period) are the family history of when women you're related to got their first period, and the presence of mucous discharge from your vagina. The mucous comes from maturing cervical glands. Usually, within six months of having a clear, non-smelly, vaginal discharge, your period will occur.
