No: There are good home remedies for sore throats, but a strep infection should be treated with antibiotics to avoid more serious complications. Having a sore throat is not the same as having a streptococcal throat infection. Most sore throats are caused by viruses. That's when home remedies like honey and warm tea may be useful (but don't forget Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for pain or fever).

Absolutely Not: Untreated strep throat in rare cases can cause serious complications. These include rheumatic heart disease which generally is permanent damage. There is a window of a week or so where treatment with appropriate antibiotics will prevent this problem. See your doctor for proper diagnosis.
