The blood fails to clot or takes a log time to clot which leads to bleeding. In some cases, patients with hemophilia can start bleeding/ hemorrhaging without an identified cause. There can be significant bleeding into joints or the abdominal cavity. When the problem is mild it might not be discovered until the person has problems with clotting after they under go surgery or sustan an injury. It impacts people's lives because they need to avoid injuries and may not be able to play some sports or do jobs which put them at risk for injury.
