Hello. : Hello. Nausea and vomiting can have multiple causes. With the symptoms described this is not necessarily serious. However, if you were to develop severe abdominal pain that should be evaluated. New onset severe pain of the abdomen should normally be assessed. You may have eaten something that does not agree with you or you could be coming down with a gasterointestinal virus. If you develop repeated vomiting and are not able to keep up with fluid losses you could become dehydrated. For instance, symptoms like rapid resting pulse rate or becoming dizzy or lightheaded when going from a lying to sitting or a sitting to a standing position could be signs of dehydration. However, at this point you have only vomited once. Consider drinking clear fluids for 6 to 12 hours. (no acidic juices, dark sodas or coffee). Also, consider drinking slightly flattened ginger ale, nibbling on crystalized ginger or making fresh ginger tea but steeping boiling water or freshly shaved slices of organic ginger for five minutes. Hope you feel better soon.
