Buffalo, Pain : Buffalo, pain is a real concern. The source could be from normal trauma during the procedure. It could be just post-operative healing discomfort. Or it could be from a subsequent infection or dry socket in the area. As i said, pain is a real concern. I would call your dentist and inform them so they can best guide you. I'm sorry i can be more helpful, michael i. Wollock, dmm, agd fellow dentistry at suburban square 610-649-0313 www.Dentistryatsuburbansquare.Com.

Having : Having many teeth extracted is a major procedure that can take time to heal. The discomfort that you are experiencing can range from normal post-op pain to a serious problem, and the fact that you are concerned is enough for you to call the dentist who did the surgery and ask to be seen immediately.

I : I am sorry to hear that you needed such extreme treatment, and that you needed to have your upper teeth cleared. While the members of the dental profession struggle to save our patients teeth, occasionally the decision to remove damaged or unsupported teeth completely as must have been the situation in your case. The bones that support the upper teeth are connected to the bones of the face and nose, and the nerves that supply the teeth pass down through these bones. If removing your teeth involved putting pressure on the bones of the face, which is possible, and if the nerves that supplied the teeth and their surrounding structures were torn during the process which is highly likely, and had you infection in the area associated with deep periodontal (gum) pockets or abscessed teeth which i suspect is the case, the we might expect there to be some post operative discomfort. It is also possible that a set of replacement teeth were delivered to you and that pressure from your immediate dentures might be hurting. Please call your dental surgeon and let them know you need advice and relief. Do it now! dr neil mcleod dds dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.
