This could ultimately lead to resenment regarding his disease and he could end much more worse off because of this. The bottom line, let him cry it out if that is what he's inclined to do!

See below: When the body experiences stress there is a natural tendency to increase the sugar levels in the blood to get ready to "fight or flight". This is a normal response. Stopping a child from getting angry or sad is virtually impossible, but the effects should be self limiting. Blood sugar levels naturally rise and fall during these occasions. Your friend can discuss further with endocrinologist.
