If : If you know you have chlamydia, you need to get treated as soon as possible. Left untreated, chlamydia can cause severe infection (pelvic inflammatory disease) and can lead to infertility or risk of ectopic pregnancies. If you do have chlamydia while pregnant, it can cause premature birth. An infant born to a mom with untreated chlamydia can develop lung and eye infections from chlamydia. Below i've attached a website with lots of helpful information about chlamydia. Make an appointment with your doctor or a doctor at a local planned parenthood or county health department for testing and treatment. Good luck!

Just get treated: I assume you are pregnant. The fetal membranes & amniotic fluid insulate the baby from localized outside infections like chlamydia. The baby would be at risk if the water breaks & you have not been treated. Then the germ can cause eye infections and a potentially fatal pneumonia after it infects baby during delivery. Get treated & the issue goes away.
