Prevention: If you have an undiagnosed bleeding disorder, you might go into a surgery or a delivery unprepared. Blood loss in those situations could be life-threatening. If you are known to have a bleeding disorder, your surgeon or obstetrician will be prepared with the proper treatments to give you before or during surgery. You may also be better able to control menstrual blood loss and prevent anemia.
