Even : Even though the most common symptom of pregnancy is a missed period, some women will continue to have some spotting or bleeding throughout the first trimester. Pink to brown spotting could even be a sign of the fertilized egg implanting into the uterus. If you think that you might be pregnant, you should take a test. You can either take a home pregnancy test as long as it has been 5- 6 weeks since your last normal period, or you can go see your doctor and they can test you. A home pregnancy test is 97% accurate if taken a week or more after the missed period. A blood test can tell if you are pregnant as soon as 7 days after conception and a doctor's urine pregnancy test can tell if you are pregnant around when you next period should come. You may want to wait a week or two before taking a pregnancy test to maximize its accuracy. There are other reasons for an irregular period besides pregnancy such as stress, poor diet, excessive exercise or a hormone imbalance. If you are not pregnant and continue to have irregular periods, you may want to speak with your doctor - especially since you are trying to conceive. An irregular cycle can indicate a problem with ovulation and can affect your chances of becoming pregnant. Good luck!
