The safe time to have sex is 24 hours after you ovulate until day three of your period. The key is being sure that you have ovulated. If you think you have already ovulated but you haven't and then you have sex the day after you ovulate then you are at an increased risk for pregnancy. Unless you are sure you ovulated more than 24 hours before you had sex then you are at risk for pregnancy.
