You : You need to see an ophthalmologist within 24-48 hours. The E.R. Might have an eye doctor on-call, but you may be better off going right to the source. Call a nearby eyedoc, and describe your symptoms. They should see you same day as an emergency!

Unless : Unless the er has an ophthalmologist or an ophthalmologist on call, they will not be able to assess your condition. For this reason, you should calll your local ophthalmologist and describe your symptoms. They should then see you as an emergency visit to their office.
