Should i go to emergency room or make appointment with my reguar g.p. first? have a "floater" the size of a pea in my right eye. am also seeing occasional flashes of light in that eye. the eye is also mildly aching and feels like it has pressure in it.

You : You need to see an ophthalmologist within 24-48 hours. The E.R. Might have an eye doctor on-call, but you may be better off going right to the source. Call a nearby eyedoc, and describe your symptoms. They should see you same day as an emergency!

Unless : Unless the er has an ophthalmologist or an ophthalmologist on call, they will not be able to assess your condition. For this reason, you should calll your local ophthalmologist and describe your symptoms. They should then see you as an emergency visit to their office.
