Yes: Some patient's tumors are sensitive to drugs that effect growth factors. Your doctor can check for the molecular markers for this sensitivity.

Combination treatmen: Yes. If the type of cancer is non small cell lung cancer, in some case, chemoradiation can shrink the cancer and make it operable whereas it may not be possible without the presurgical chemoradiation. In inoperable patients who do not respond to standard chemoradiation, there are a good number of newer drugs for 'target therapy"i.e. They will target cancer cell with certain molecular structures.

Depends: Depending on the characteristic of the lymph nodes in the mediastinum (middle of the chest near the windpipe), trimodality therapy which is neoadjuvant (before surgery) chemoradiation followed by sugery can be curative.
