are erections normal during "dre" procedures? male - 27

Dr. Stanley Myers
34 years experience Urology
The : The nerves that cause erections course next to the prostate and during a dre (digital rectal exam) these could be stimulated and cause an erection. This is uncommon because of the brief duration of most dre's, but it can occur spontaneously. If it happens to you, it should not be considered abnormal.

I : I have never seen anybody getting an erection during dre unless you are already sexually aroused before dre and sequence of events such as undressing and massage of prostate may enhanhance arousal and cause erection.
