HPV : Hpv (human papilloma virus) is very common. 1/3 people carry the virus. There are hundreds of different types, the most worrisome being types 16, and 18 which cause cervical cancer. Hpv in pregnancy rarely leads to any complications or issues for the fetus, unless the mother has active warts on her vulva or cervix. In this case her ob/gyn may opt to do a c-section to avoid exposure. Otherwise the pregnancy will be followed as routine, unless there are other separate issues. Keep in mind each doctor is different. Your girlfriend should find out how this doctor managaes hpv in pregnancy. Congrats. All the best.
