Irregular : Irregular periods can be caused by many things. Sometimes our hormones can get "out of whack" from stress or dietary changes, this is called "dysfunctional uterine bleeding". If you at all think pregnancy is a possibility then please take a test; an abnormal pregnancy or sometimes even a normal pregnancy can cause irregular bleeding. Other hormonal problems like thyroid problems can cause irregular bleeding. Please see a gynecologist or family practioner for an evaluation and also be sure your pap smear is up to date. If you have increased pain, fever, vomiting, or increased bleeding then you would need to be seen as an emergency.
