This is also known as the 'morning after pill." this regimen is typically 1 or 2 pills (taken 12 hours apart). Also, it is important to note that, in order for emergency contraception to be effective, it has to be within 72 hours of unprotected sex. You do not need a prescription for emergency contraception. Some pharmacies require that you are atleast 18 years old. The side effects of taking this are nausea, vomiting, pelvic cramping, fatigue and can entail mood swings.
