Management: Stress reduction with daily exercise and meditation, low salt diet, elimination of caffeine and alcohol are helpful in minimizing meniere's disease attacks. A prescription of a diuretic can also be helpful.

Prevention: Mainsta;y of treatment is low salt diet, less than 2000 mg sodium per day and diuretic. Adequate sleep and hydration are also very important. 80% of patients respond to this type of conservative therapy in terms of a reduction or elimination in vertigo attacks.
