Asthma : Asthma can have a variety of symptoms, but the most common are shortness of breath and wheezing. In some people, asthma symptoms are mainly coughing; asthma is the underlying cause of many cases of chronic cough. Exercise puts more demand on the lungs, which may make a mild impairment more noticeable. Additionally, hormones released in response to exercise may trigger tightening of the airways. Often, people with asthma will report they have more symptoms after twenty minutes of exercise than when they start. Some asthmatics have symptoms only with exercise; this is known as exercise-induced asthma. However, exercise will trigger symptoms in many, if not most, people with asthma. Shortness of breath, wheezing, or persistent coughing after exercise is suggestive of asthma. However, other medical conditions can cause similar symptoms, so you should consult your doctor for these symptoms. Testing can determine whether they are due to asthma.

Yes: Exercise induced asthma is a real thing. It usually occurs during the exercise and is otherwise absent when not exercising. Check with your physician and get tested to make sure.
