What is the time frame for getting chemo therapy if they have breast cancer?

Depends: Sometimes chemotherapy is given before surgery (neo-adjuvant). Sometimes chemotherapy is started a few weeks after breast cancer surgery, depending on the person's healing. The length of the treatments can be given over 3-6 months.

Timing: For early stage breast cancer after surgery and if indicated, chemo should be started ideally within 4-6 weeks of surgery.
