A member asked:

Should my hip still be tender a year after my reconstruction?

No: After a year a small number of patients remain painful but this is not common. Most individuals have little or no pain. Persistent pain may be secondary to local bursitis, referred pain from the lower back, or something wrong with the prosthesis itself; like infection or loosening. Unexplained pain at this point in time should be re-evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon.

No: But there are many reasons it might be sore and few of them are serious.
