Yes: Condoms don't protect against stds all the time. Some viruses like herpes and hpv can sometimes be on the skin and not cause any sores or lesions. Even if you use a condom it's a good idea to talk to your partner before having sex about a history of stds. You should still use condoms since it greatly reduces the risk of transmission. Unfortunately, the risk does not go to zero.
