Hormone: The infant has been continuasly bathed in the mother's hormones and they are acting on her in the same manner as in the mother that is what is causing the bleeding it should stop within a few days iy is not anything to be concerned about however if it lasts longer a urine workup should occur.

Probably not blood: Brick or mud colored stain over wet diaper of newborn baby is from uric acid crystal and is transient. If the stain is bright red in color or it persists, seek a medical attention.
