Maybe: Until you have had a thorough evaliuation by a gastroenterologist or colon and rectal surgeon, i would not use it. One needs to determine the cause of the constipation and remedy that first.

Probably not: Golytlely is also given as a bowel preparation prior to colonoscopy. If it caused cramps very few people would get colonoscopy.
