Many reasons: Movements during sleep can have multiple roots. Some people have involuntary leg movements called plms (periodic leg movements). Others may have disturbed sleep from sleep apnea that can cause momentary pauses in breathing and a brief arousal that come associated with movements. Twitching can also happen as we fall asleep called hypnic jerks. Consider seeing a sleep specialist concerned.
