Not at all: Pulmonary fibrosis and fibromyalgia have only the root fibr in common. Pulmonary fibrosis is deposition of scar tissue in the lungs leading to high blood pressure in the lungs. Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain syndrome.

No: Pulmonary fibrosis leads to fibrosis of lungs. It can be from many causes. It leads to decrease in gaseous exchange and pt. May feel short of breath. Fibromyalgia is currently described as chronic pain, almost all over the body . Tender points are not used any more for diagnostic purposes. Fibromyalgia may be effected by mood changes, decreased sleep. They are totally different from each other.

Unrelated: The two are unrelated completely except the letters fibro which is a fairly common prefix in pathologic terms. In the case of pulmonary fibrosis it is an accurate descriptive term, in the case of fibromyalgia it is a misnomer.
