A member asked:

Can being on your period cause nose bleeds?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Periods don't cause.: Generally, getting a nosebleed is about having an irritation inside the nasal cavities, where the blood supply is rich. During your period, hormone levels rise, which contribute to dilation of veins. The same dilation of veins in your nose may contribute, if an irritation causes a sore / crust / scab in the mucous membranes lining your nose. See an ENT to get to the bottom of the problem.
