Considered normal: For babies under 2 months of age we do get a concern of they run a temperature >100.4 f , but a temperature of 99 ( obtained as a core or rectal temperature) is considered normal. Infants or older children often run a lower body temperature around 4-6am and a higher one around 4pm.
