i have horizontal ridges on my finger nails and i'm being tested for lupus. is that a sign of an autoimmune disease?

Probably not.: I've never seen lupus cause horizontal nail ridges, although i suppose it's possible. Certain medications can do it, as can diabetes and certain systemic diseases. If you're not on any medications, your doctor may wish to extend the workup to look for other internal causes, besides lupus.
