Hydrogen peroxide breaks down to water as it bubbles out the oxygen. This water can create a puddle effect that causes the skin to swell. Over time the skin in the canal cracks and exposes body serum, leading to infection by canal germs (swimmers ear). If you use peroxide, get it all out after use.
