Tested too soon: Are you nursing? Did you have unprotected sex during ovulation? Being 9 days late is too soon for the hpt to be positive. Test again in another week to 10 days.

Need blood test: You need bloodwork to r/o pregnancy if no period .If negative then it could be any kind of stress leading to hormonal imbalance
